On Tuesday, July 15th, the EU ministers of foreign affairs will once again discuss sanctions against Israel. At the previous meeting of June 23rd, they agreed only about humanitarian aid. Unfortunately, they failed to reach a position about sanctions.
What will happen on July 15th? At their meeting in Brussels, the ministers will assess several options. These include suspension of the Association Agreement, sanctions on individuals, trade measures… or again doing nothing.
Israel is committing war crimes and violating international law and even the European Union knows it. They’ve had a confidential report for months now saying Israel is committing war crimes and violating human rights. And yet, they still haven’t taken any action.
Mass pressure from civil society has already been successful in putting this issue on the EU agenda. It will be hard to convince all the ministers for full suspension of the Agreement, but the debate is clearly tilting in favour of sanctions.
So now it is time to boost our demands. Let’s be thousands to send emails to our minister of foreign affairs, Maxim Prevot and the high representative Kaja Kallas – to tell them we’re watching, we know what’s happening, and we demand sanctions against Israel.
Let’s flood their inboxes. No more impunity.
It’s time to end the EU complicity in this genocide.
Stop Funding Genocide.
Free Palestine.

Subject: Suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement
Dear Foreign Ministers of the European Union,
Dear High Representative,
At its meeting on Tuesday, 15 July, the Foreign Affairs Council will once again discuss the EU-Israel Association Agreement.
We hereby call on the Council to immediately decide on the full suspension of the Association Agreement.
In light of years of war crimes committed by the Israeli state against the Palestinian population, and the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the EU can no longer ignore its legal and moral responsibilities.
Students, academics, and other civil society groups are increasingly speaking out against the agreement. We refer, for instance, to the petitions:
• Stop Funding Genocide (https://stop-funding-genocide.com)
• My Voice, My Choice (https://sign.myvoice-mychoice.org/forms/stop_gaza_genocide_eng)
• ECCP (https://action.wemove.eu/sign/2025-05-EU-trade-Israel-petition-EN)
• Ekō (https://action.eko.org/a/suspend-eu-israel-trade-deal)
Suspending the Association Agreement is only a first — but crucial — step toward lasting peace in the Middle East.
We were very disappointed by the outcome of the Foreign Affairs Council on 23 June, which decided only about humanitarian aid and failed to agree on the suspension of the Association Agreement.
We count on the EU to uphold its principles under international law and to respect the position of the European Parliament.
Yours sincerely,
NAME
